About Dr. Albert M. Jones, Jr.
Albert M. Jones, Jr. is Medical Director and Vice President of
Medical Affairs at Sheltering Arms Hospital. He joined Sheltering
Arms in 1988, having served as a physiatrist specializing in physical
medicine and rehabilitation before his appointment as medical director
in 1992. He specializes in the areas of neurological rehabilitation,
prosthetics and orthotics, spine and musculoskeletal problems and
pain management.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Jones received his bachelor
of science degree in Health Economics from Vanderbilt University
and his M.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of
Medicine in Memphis. He completed a general internship at Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Memphis and completed his residency in physical
medicine and rehabilitation at the Medical College of Virginia
where he was also chief resident.
Dr. Jones is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
holds an appointment as assistant clinical professor in the Dept.
of Rehabilitation at the Medical College of VA, and has been a
surveyor for the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation
Facilities.
